How to Maintain Remission as an Autoimmune Patient

Hashimoto’s, PCOS, infertility, and uncharted autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases are rising rapidly. More and more women report having either developed or undergone these in their lifetime. At first, there was no apparent solution or proper channel to overcome these illnesses.

Normally in these cases, doctors would prescribe a heavy dosage of medicine which would lead to more side effects. Even now, many people either ignore the symptoms altogether or continue taking medications that show little or no progress. With proper care, treatment, and consultation, one can put their diseases into remission. Acquiring that remission is fairly easier than maintaining it.

Many are misled to believe that maintaining remission as an autoimmune or PCOS patient is impossible. At one point you might relapse. The supplements you need to take to enter remission are solely based on the illness, your body, and the clinician. Here are some steps you can take to maintain remission.

Mind-body connection

The mind and body are intricately intertwined. A connection between them is established but you must know what effect they have on one another. If your mind is feeding you negative words, maintaining remission may not be as easy.

The key to maintaining it lies in changing your consciousness. Leading it on a positive path compels it to carry out actions necessary for a response that would aid in your remission. Clinicians are of the view that these illnesses are caused by recurrent patterns that disrupt the mind-body connection.

Eliminating negative words and thoughts can help you to learn what causes such responses. In return, you can overcome and build that connection with the hope of keeping your remission in control.

Acknowledge trauma

Unattended trauma is an avowed enemy to the mind and acts as an obstacle for individuals running towards betterment. Trauma acts as a hindrance to you to excel in your life, even if it is just waking up in the morning.

Acknowledging and countering that trauma is also one of the many causes to maintain remission. Trauma and autoimmune diseases are intertwined where the former adversely affects the latter.

For suffering patients, it is important to acknowledge and heal from their trauma, reducing the risk of autoimmunity altogether. Trauma is a generational phenomenon and if the person does not address it, the trauma will infuse itself within those who follow. It is when you can counter this trauma, only then you can maintain remission as well as stop it from passing down.

Undergoing therapy and acknowledging not only helps you enter remission but also maintains it. You need to take the first step to get closer to recovery. You can take all the prescribed medicines you want, or control your diet, the truth of the matter is that the results you want to achieve are dependent on you battling that trauma.

Reduce quick fixes

Choosing an easy way out to enter and maintain remission can only bring temporary results. Rather than jumping on board a trendy exercise routine or a diet plan that deprives you of basic nutrients, it is important to take a careful look at what works best.

Clinicians believe that relying solely on diets, detoxes, prescribed supplements and medications, and exercises is not the answer to maintaining remission. To be able to take control, one needs to, as mentioned above, acknowledge trauma and build a connection.

Usually, these are found at the bottom of the list and are the ultimate last resort opted for by an autoimmune patient. Taking care of your health and remaining in remission is only attainable if you reduce quick fixes and do not rely on these interventions.

Let’s recap

Entering remission as an autoimmune patient is one thing, maintaining it is another.

External factors lead to one losing their ground. To counter these, it is important to keep the mind-body connection intact that pushes you to excel instead of faltering your progress. It is also imperative for you to acknowledge and counter the trauma which may erupt and push you down. Lastly, relying on quick fixes can only provide temporary recovery.

With these simple tips, you can easily maintain remission as an autoimmune patient.
